OUR 2010 SEASON

The New Year is upon us and we look forward to a great 2010 season at Huntington Playhouse which gets underway in May with our production of the musical The Full Monty. The Full Monty is a very funny, ADULT ORIENTED musical. Six out-of-work mill workers in Buffalo, New York decide they can make a lot of money in one night if they put on a “Chippendale type” review. When ticket sales aren’t what they should be, they make the promise that their review will offer more than just a male dance review: they will indeed go all the way and do “the Full Monty”. Obviously, this show has adult language, adult situations, and nudity. It is not recommended for children. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult. If you have questions or concerns about this production, please contact us. Flex Passes are currently on sale for the 2010 season. We offer seven admissions for $105.00 that you may use for any of our performances and in any combination you choose. It gives you the ability to choose the show you want to see when you want to see it. We also encourage you to visit the restaurant next door to the theatre, Vento La Trattoria. The theatre has been awarded a matching grant of $40,000 from the Ohio Arts Commission towards replacement of our fly system used in many of our productions. A fly system is the set of ropes and counter weights that allow us to “fly” scenery up into the top of our stage. This allows us to create multiple scenes in productions. This system is not available at many community theatres in the Cleveland area. Our fly system, originally installed in 1971, had 15 working lines. Currently we now have 5 that we can operate safely. We need to replace the system to make our system safer and allow us to produce large scale productions. We need your help. Please take a look at our brochure entitled Help Us Fly To New Heights. It has color pictures of what we currently have as a system and what we would like to eventually upgrade it to. The architect firm of Westlake Reed and Leskosky has been retained and they have determined that the total cost of this project is $94,000. The State of Ohio has committed to $40,000 with this matching grant. We have so far raised $20,000 but find we need to raise $34,000 to make this project possible.
